Thousands of children in communities where MOHI serves depend on MOHI school meals as their only reliable source of nutrition.

Without meals, hunger takes over—slowing growth, weakening immune systems, and making it nearly impossible to focus in class.

When kids go to school hungry, they struggle to concentrate, learn, and stay healthy. Even minor deficiencies, like low iron, can derail a child’s development.

MOHI’s third meal program gives students five extra meals a week, plus nourishing snacks like eggs and fruit. Through the program, cases of malnutrition have decreased, and undernourished children are now gaining healthy weight.

Malnutrition harms more than health. Kids who are tired, sick, or in pain miss out on critical learning opportunities. Their bodies don’t develop the way they should. Their futures shrink.

By providing reliable, nutrient-rich meals, you’re not just feeding students. You’re giving them the strength to show up, stay engaged, and succeed.

In some of the regions we serve, like Turkana, Marsabit, and Tana River, the landscape is dry, food is scarce, and daily meals outside of school are not guaranteed.
